Psychic Phenomenon and the Sedona Vortex Experience - Part 1
Vortices are essentially invisible energy spiraling up from the planet. They are found all over the world and are felt and seen by individuals with extra sensory perception and similar talent. One does not have to feel or see a vortex to benefit from it. Because of this "invisible" nature of a vortex many individuals do not believe they exist. That's fine, we all have a right to our own erroneous beliefs, but in some other life time they will come to realize their importance. It's just part of the journey.
What makes Sedona unique in regards to vortices is the high concentration of them throughout the area. Just being in Sedona one is under the influence of a number of vortices of different characteristics. The major ones in Sedona are 1) The Airport Vortex, 2) Boynton Canyon Vortex, 3) Cathedral Rock, and 4) Bell Rock. Actually, there are many more vortices but locals like to keep them somewhat secret so they don't get overrun with tourist. In brief, though, they all are different in the type of energy they emit and the force they contain. Therefore, over the years, the different vortices have developed reputations of being good or healing for certain emotional and physical issues. For example, many feel Cathedral Rock is the most powerful and all around "cure all" vortex. This is probably the most well known vortex and it is the most visited by seekers of spiritual enlightenment. Bell Rock also gets many visitors but many of these are just travelers driving by on Highway 179.
The vortices over the years have been labeled by intuitives (individuals with various psychic talents) as having certain characteristics. For example, they are either masculine or feminine and electromagnetic or magnetic in nature. Some are conducive to ceremonies to bring about healings, visions, and awakening while others are good places to sit and meditate. There really is no wrong way to approach these phenomenon other than simple respect. I wouldn't clown around or show disrespect. Remember, they do have a consciousness to them and they don't take lightly to ignorance or fools. For example, I know one individual who went and camped out on a lesser known vortex and jokingly said, after being told the nature of this vortex, "Oh great, now I'll probably get some kind of head ache from this." He laughed and sure enough, later that night, he got the worst migraine head ache he ever had and eventually was forced to break camp and head back to town. Well, just imagine, if instead of a jokingly negative comment he said, "Oh great, this will totally make me feel and be in great physically condition and I will experience wonderful dreams about what I should be doing in this life time!" So remember, your thoughts and or demeanor are important on how you approach these vortices and sacred spots in general.
In part 2 I will explore in depth the characteristics of the vortices and what they are good for.
