Tarot Cards Guide

By:  M Rhiane

Need to read the future? You may consult a tarot card reader for that purpose. Your tomorrow is just a card away. There are meanings in each card awaiting to be interpreted. But what are tarot cards?

Tarot cards are graphical illustrations representing events, energies and occurrences that we are likely going to encounter in our lives. They most probably are new beginnings, patience, determination, joy, wealth, decision-making, heartache, reflection, togetherness and death.

A tarot deck normally consists of 78 cards. It combines the 22 cards known as the Major Arcana that describe the major happenings in our life and the 56 cards which are called the Minor Arcana - those cards elaborate on the first 22 cards. Just like the ordinary playing cards, the Minor Arcana is made up of suits. Wands represent the spirit or fire, cups represent the emotions or water, swords represent the mind or the air, and pentacles are for the physical world or earth. They are numbered from 1 to 10, Page, Knight, Queen and King.

A tarot card can be used as a way to find out the future by reading the cards that are selected face down from the deck and interpreting them by ways of their position in the spread, with reference to sequences.

Tarot cards can help us get to know ourselves better and to appreciate the things that happen to us during our time in this world. They help us perceive the deeper purpose in our lives and make us aware of our human nature.
